The term emarketing, also known as digital marketing, online marketing, internet marketing and web marketing stands for electronic marketing.

It’s the process of marketing, advertising, and promotion of products and services using the internet.

There are different types of e-marketing and we’ll talk about them later on in the post.

Importance Of Emarketing

Yes! It’s time to actually look at the importance of e-markdting because you only get to appreciate something when you get to know its benefits.

There are so many ways Internet marketing can benefit an individual, business, company, or organization, some of those ways are:

High return on investment (ROI)

Businesses, brands, companies, and individuals invest a whole lot of cash online because they want to achieve a set business goal, which can be increasing sales, generating more leads, or increasing website traffic.

One way to find out if a particular marketing approach is working out fine or not is to measure the ROI.

ROI provides you with an insight into the overall performance and profitability of a particular marketing strategy of yours.

This information is important to you because it doesn’t matter the amount of energy and resource you put in if you’re not getting the corresponding ROI you’re probably flushing your energy and money down the toilet.

So you can actually test things out before spending your hard-earned cash. Emarketing is pretty easy and cheap to start. As you can even start on zero budget and later scale-up.

In this part of the post, we’ll explore the various types of internet marketing available to businesses, brands, and companies. Don’t get confused when I use internet marketing, digital marketing, online marketing, or web marketing because they all mean the same thing. And I’m going to use them interchangeably.

You must have come across the statement “content is king.” The statement was made because of how important content is to online marketing. Though I don’t totally agree with that, I will rather say that “content is the relationship builder” Because it’s with brands that reach and establish relationships with their customers.

In a nutshell, content marketing is the process of creating and distributing content with the aim of establishing a relationship that is both beneficiaries to the brand and its customers. web contents can be in different formats – written, video, images, audio, and infographics. Web contents can be distributed using several channels – social media, email, etc.

Email Marketing

When starting to do emarketing one of the first things you’re advised to do is to build an email list. It’s not because it’s one of those e-marketing religious activities. It’s because of its impact on your online marketing business.

What is email marketing?

Email marketing is one of the digital marketing approaches where a business, brand, individual decides to reach his customers through email. While email lists or subscribers are those who have given you permission to reach them via email. There are different ways that you can get people to give you their email – by offering a free eBook, video course, webinar, and podcast in return for email. Email marketing can help businesses see a high return on investment (ROI) because it allows them to send personalised messages to their audience.

Blogging

It’s pretty clear that one way to build credibility, authority, and loyal followers online is to constantly share engaging and useful information. A lot of people are online to either educate, entertain or to satisfy their curiosity. One way businesses can build this credibility, authority, and royal fans is to have a blog where they share their business information, useful and educative contents and other industry news.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a two-way channel – publisher and advertiser. The advertiser creates or owns a product or service then invites the publisher to promote his product or service, the publisher earns a commission after each successful sale. Affiliate marketing is a cost-effective type of emarketing because you don’t have to pay ads that don’t convert. You only pay out commission each time there are sales. Search Engine Optimization(SEO)

One thing everyone involved in e-marketing craves is constant website traffic. But social media, email, or paid advertising does not guarantee constant traffic. You only get traffic from these channels as long as you’re willing to invest. Once you stop, it stops.

One way to enjoy constant website traffic is to optimise your web pages and contents for search engine visibility. The process of optimising your web pages and contents for search engine visibility is what is called search engine optimisation (SEO).

Paid Advertising

We talk about paid advertising we’re referring to any form of advertising that you use for some of those types of advertising including Facebook ads, Instagram ads, LinkedIn ads. We have different categories of paid advertising – display ads, pay-per-click, pay-per-impression. Paid advertising can cost more but it’s an effective way to put your brand in front of your target market.
